Dave Shafer is committed to serving the community of Allen with steadfast dedication. Graduating from Allen High School in 2001, he has been an unwavering City Councilman since June 2021. Throughout his tenure, Shafer has served as the Council Liaison to:

• Keep Allen Beautiful Board
• Library Board
• Animal Shelter Advisory Committee
• Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board

In addition to his public service, Councilman Shafer is the esteemed CEO of Preferred Intelligence, a state-licensed private investigations company established in 2014. Additionally, in his free time, he is a hobby-historian collecting and donating various historical materials such as newspapers to the Allen Public Library. 

Shafer’s expertise shines through multiple distinguished certifications and commitments:

• Texas Board Certified Investigator (TBCI) by the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI)
• CDITC Criminal Defense Specialist from the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council (CDITC)
• Nationally recognized designation of Board-Certified Criminal Defense Investigator (CCDI) from CDITC
• At-large director for TALI, engaging actively in various committees such as the TBCI Committee, Commendations Committee, and Ethics Committee, while also holding the role of Sergeant at Arms for the TALI board.

Shafer’s deep commitment to service is evident through his professional associations and his continued active involvement in the community. Beyond his Council duties, he is an engaged member of:

Shafer’s dedication to advancing the community’s well-being is evident through his advocacy for essential services, notably championing the Police and Firefighters Associations, and supporting various charitable initiatives that reinforce their fundamental role in serving and protecting the community.
